Description and Desired Qualifications :

• The role involves structural design and design management of bridges design for both local and global projects being delivered from the team.
• Structural design of bridges and highway structures.
• Design management for small projects and design packages.
• Should have hands on experience of not less than 6 - 9 years on bridges design with thorough understanding of structural behavior. Should be capable of handling major bridges design independently. Design experience should include prestressed concrete bridges, balanced cantilever bridges, steel bridges etc.
• M.Tech. (Structure) from reputed university with good experience would be ideal. B. Tech. from reputed university with very good experience would also suffice.
• Knowledge of software like Midas and previous working experience of working with international consultants.

Basic Qualifications:

• B. Tech., M. Tech. (Desirable) 
• Excellent communication and report writing skills, and good presentation skills in English. 
• Experience in the design of post tensioned box girder bridges and segmental bridges. 
• Experience in the design of steel composite bridges 
• Experience of handling small teams and work independently 
• Experience in the use of software like RM, MIDAS 
• Metro and overseas experience – desirable 
• Be able to communicate effectively with design delivery teams and motivate them to meet the project objectives. 
• Good leadership skills, 
• post graduate experience in the design of major bridges projects of a complex nature.

General Description of Role & Responsibilities:

• Monitor the performance of the Design Consultant to ensure the Design correctness and completeness as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements.
• Ensure that the Design Consultant(s) has considered the end user’s requirements as stated in the statement of requirement.
• Assist with the controlling and managing of the Senior Discipline Engineers of the Project Management Team in respect of Design aspects.
• Evaluate and endorse the variation orders/concession request submitted by the Design Consultant(s) for Client's approval.
• Attend all meetings with Design Consultant(s), its sub-consultants and Client's Meetings.
• Review and comment on technical drawings and documents submitted by the Design Consultant(s) and ensure the incorporation of all revisions on all documents.
• Coordinate with regional / home office for technical support required to ensure the correctness and completeness of the Design.
• Ongoing review of the Project Scope to ensure technically sound  results and provide recommendation to Client and Design Manager.
• Propose alternative materials/systems to improve the Design Operation, Future Maintenance and Construction Costs.
• All Project Documents are controlled, recorded and filed as per contact requirements.
