Qualifications:
- University Degree in Architecture or other related Engineering field.
- 12 years of relevant professional experience on large construction projects.
- Excellent communication skills and computer user skills.
- Experience performing design reviews for large projects (mixed use): luxury residential towers, malls, office, retail and corresponding surrounding infrastructure .
- Exposure to high qualify interior fit-out and finishing work highly desired.
- Knowledge of the Value Engineering process is important and required.
- Experience with assessing and understanding design changes in a Construction Project and having sufficient experience too understand the wider implications of the Design Changes on the MEP & Fire disciplines and/or construction methodologies.
- Experience with direct Client interaction and having the ability to manage the Client’s expectations and demands with both interpersonal skill and technical awareness.
- Excellent command of the English Language both written and verbal.
General Description of Role & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include both technical and interpersonal responsibilities
- Monitor the performance of the Design Consultant to ensure the Design correctness and completeness as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements.
- Ensure that the Design Consultant(s) has considered the end user’s requirements as stated in the statement of requirement.
- Assist with the controlling and managing of the Senior Discipline Engineers of the Project Management Team in respect of Design aspects.
- Evaluate and endorse the variation orders/concession request submitted by the Design Consultant(s) for Client's approval.
- Attend all meetings with Design Consultant(s), its sub-consultants and Client's Meetings.
- Review and comment on technical drawings and documents submitted by the Design Consultant(s) and ensure the incorporation of all revisions on all documents.
- Coordinate with regional / home office for technical support required to ensure the correctness and completeness of the Design.
- Ongoing review of the Project Scope to ensure technically sound results and provide recommendation to Client and Design Manager.
- Propose alternative materials/systems to improve the Design Operation, Future Maintenance and Construction Costs.
- All Project Documents are controlled, recorded and filed as per contact requirements.
