Job Description
Role Description: This position is responsible for implementing work and performance standards for assigned design staff, directing the work process from concept through construction, and overall supervision of architectural design and facility engineering staff. To accomplish this, the Senior Architectural Manager will work with the Senior Project Manager to prepare a comprehensive work plan for each project so that all members of the project team understand the scope of work. The Senior Architectural Manager develops and implements a quality plan for each project and participates in resolving design and engineering problems and development of corrective actions.
Essential Job Functions:
DESIGN • Understands architectural, interdisciplinary design, overall building design concepts, and project delivery methods • Understands the technical implications of design decisions • Responsible for the complete integration of design and technical aspects of the project • Facilitates excellence in design and execution
TECHNICAL • Monitors the technical performance of the project team and work plan to assure that the firm’s quality standards and project goals are being met • Manages multi-discipline architecture and engineering teams to meet schedule, budget, and technical objectives. • Understands all aspects and phases of architecture, interdisciplinary design and production process • Knowledgeable of established practices, procedures, and standards pertinent to the architecture and engineering design standards. • Documents work in well written professional technical reports, when required. Provides guidance to architects and engineers on project/technical issues. • Knowledgeable on Codes & Standards and client requirements pertinent to design or engineered systems and insures technical compliance with project requirements. • Drives internal work process initiatives managing labor budgeting, resource scheduling, work flow planning, and design and construction documentation. • Applies technical expertise by organizing and presenting internal training programs. • Skilled in estimating department man-hours, and coordinating staff assignments. • Able to perform drawing and specification QA/QC review and design calculation checking for any project within technical expertise. • Can perform the responsibilities and duties of a Senior Project Architect • Manages all phases of employee performance included coaching, training and development, and career planning. • Assures a positive team work atmosphere • Participates in marketing and business development opportunities.

Requirements
• 15+ years of experience • Minimum Degree Bachelor of Architecture • Registration • LEED AP or within obtained 6 months of hire • Advanced knowledge of design process, construction documentation, construction administration and materials • Experience in directing, mentoring, coordinating project teams, and managing project staff • Strong interpersonal skills; verbal, listening, and written including client presentation skills • Basic CADD knowledge; working knowledge of Microsoft Office products • Experience in AutoCAD and BIM Technology (i.e. Revit) • Experience in one or more of these markets preferred: Science and Technology, Higher Education, Advanced Technology, Office/Workplace, Government/Municipal
