Job Description:

Chief Operating Officer:-

Job Responsibility :

Operations:-

• Monitor and supervise the activities of the assigned Market and or client site offices
• Develop, manage and maintain all operational policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of all projects in accordance with the contract and client expectations
• Support the strategic business goals .
• Assume primary accountability (i.e. profitability, staffing and service delivery) for implementation and monitoring of all projects in designated Local Office and/or Client Offices
• Assure adherence to design 
• preparation of contracts for professional services & Monitor team performance against contractual obligations.
• Attend or conduct major client meetings and presentations as required
• Monitor the development of and adherence to project schedules, staffing plans, and fee budgets as required

Business Development:-

• Lead the efforts of Marketing and Business Development for the market through participation in client development, marketing activities, and contributions to the Global Business Development Report.
• Participate in client management as required
• Participate in providing input into project team development, identification of required consultants, scope of services, schedules and presentations
• Be the local face to the community, being actively engaged at the committee level or above in the appropriate community and trade organizations.
• With the support of Marketing Communications, oversee local PR and branding initiatives.

Staff Management:-

• Be available to the staff as a mentor and coach
• Conduct local management meetings to review all project status and provide recommendations for corrective actions when appropriate
• Supervise and facilitate staff assignments by site for all projects by effectively utilizing Teammates to maintain positive interaction while ensuring the highest service and product quality that a client expects, consistent with the companys contractual obligations
• With the support of the Senior Managing Director, Account Executives, and/or LOB Directors, conduct ongoing performance based communication, TDP Meetings, salary recommendations, and identification of training needs
• Coordinate all staffing activities for your assigned office(s) including recruiting, retention, development and termination, with the support of Human Resources
• Promote Teammate development by coordinating team assignments, where possible, to allow for professional growth.

Knowledge, skills and abilities :-

Specific Skill Requirements: Business management skills including finance, accounting, human resources, marketing, and technology management principles, proposal development, contract language development, fee development and management, project budget development and management, project schedule development and management, resource plan development, excellent verbal and written communication, excellent organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills and leadership ability, and the ability to mentor teammates.

Supervisory responsibilities:

The Chief Operation Officer has direct management responsibilities for the local team within their defined local market.

Minimum Job Requirements/Qualifications:

Education:

Minimum BS, BA or comparable 4-year degree in architecture, design, engineering or related field

Experience:

Minimum 12 years in the architecture, interiors, engineering or corporate real estate consulting with at least 8 years of experience in the managing and leading a team.
